This documentary was a wild idea from NRK (norwegian television) staff that came through, and was, surprisingly, a big success.

This was Rybak’s first concert after his victory in Moscow. I am sorry for the bad video quality. This was zoomed in from a distance away and was set on Black and White. He grew up at Nesodden just outside the Norwegian capital Oslo. Alexander has played violin and piano since he was five years old, he also composes his own music and sings. Alexander has performed with artists like Arve Tellefsen, Morten Harket, Hanne Krogh and Knutsen & Ludvigsen. In 2006 he won the Norwegian talentshow Kjempesjansen with his own song Foolin. Alexander has performed with one of the world’s most celebrated violinists, Pinchas Zukerman, he has won Anders Jahres Culture Price and hes been the concertmaster for Norways largest symphony orchestra for youths, Ung Symfoni, in Bergen. He also played the role of the fiddler in Fiddler On The Roof at Oslo Nye Theatre (2007) and has a role in the forthcoming movie Yohan – Child Wanderer (August 2009). This is a video I filmed yesterday on our national day, Constitution Day. The weather was fantastic and there were lots of people out. This video shows the entry of the students and teachers at Bygdøy elementary school into the courtyard at Bygdøy Folk Museum, after they’ve marched in the traditional May 17th children’s parade which in Oslo consists of more than one hundred schools like this.

This is a little Italian restaurant about a block East of Wendelboe’s shop. My pizza had pinenuts, arugula pesto, pancetta, and mozzarella. Very delicious and pretty affordable (for Oslo!).
